Pumpkin

Pumpkin facial mask

Did you know that pumpkin can be used as a skin exfoliator, helping to remove dead skin from its surface and brighten your complexion? Pumpkins are great for your skin as they are packed with vitamins A, C, and E (all known to fight wrinkles); plus beta-carotene, zinc, potassium and antioxidants which help to eliminate redness!

Pumpkin facial mask

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree - chop and boil the pumpkin flesh until soft
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar - good for oily skin
  • 2 tsps honey - good for dry/normal skin
  • Optional: 2 slices of cucumber to place over your eyes to help reduce puffiness and soothe the skin around your sockets!

Method

  1. Put the cooked pumpkin into a food processor until it turns smooth.
  2. Add an egg and the apple cider vinegar. If you have dry or normal skin, pop in some honey.
  3. Mix everything together and apply to a cleanly washed face with your finger tips or a medium sized makeup brush. Avoid getting the mixture too close to your eyes (another good reason to place cucumber slices on them!).
  4. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse off for a lovely glow and refreshed skin!
Everything you need is in the shop. Our butchers, bakery and deli counters are open seven days - and in season you can pick the fruit for this yourself out on the farm.
